Lucerne Forestry Fair 2019 - Man and Machine
Soon, the Swiss timber and forestry industry will meet for the 25th Forestry Fair in Lucerne. It will focus on man and machine and on forest and climate change. Modern halls and the open-air grounds will be the setting for market innovations from innovative entrepreneurs and for two spectacular Swiss wood championships.
The cosmopolitan Sales fair with events organized by WaldSchweiz, Codoc and the Bern Universities of Applied Sciences has been an important socio-political industry event with a difference for 50 years.
Industry 4.0 and virtual forest
Embedded in a forest landscape, the "Treffpunkt Forst, Forêt, Foresta" will focus on the use of cable cranes, forest-friendly hunting systems and drones as forestry transport aids. In view of climate change, the FOEN, WSL and the cantons will present a new app that supports experts in the selection of sustainable tree species. The short congress of WaldSchweiz explores the question of which wood we will need in the future. HAFL's panel discussion takes up the virtual forest with Industry 4.0 from the perspective of the wood-consuming industry and a Swiss forestry operation. No less than two Swiss championships will tickle visitors' nerves with breathtaking live events. While on Thursday and Friday the woodcutting competitions will amaze with felling, precision work and chain changes in seconds, the geniuses in Swiss sport woodcutting will be on stage at the Stihl Timbersports on the weekend.
