GEZE: More manufacturing capacity
A few days ago, GEZE inaugurated a new production hall at its headquarters in Leonberg, Germany. The 6500 m2 plant extension, which cost around six million euros, increases the importance of the company's headquarters as an international production site, the company writes.
With the new building enlarged GEZE the production area on the company premises by 5000 m2. Additional office and social rooms are available on another 1500 m2. "With the new production hall, we can further optimize our manufacturing processes, once again significantly increase our efficiency and enhance our international competitiveness. The hall includes a manufactory for the production of special solutions, our own production line for revolving and circular sliding doors and an area for the order-related production of automatic sliding door systems. This will enable us to respond more individually and flexibly to our customers' wishes in the future," said Marc Alber.
In addition to production capacity for large series, the expansion of manufacturing facilities for individual product solutions is part of the company's growth strategy, according to the statement. More and more countries in Europe and around the world are being supplied with solutions for doors and windows from Leonberg, it adds.
Fully automatic warehousing
For material supply, the new hall has a fully automatic honeycomb long-goods warehouse for raw material storage. It supplies the production of automatic sliding doors with the required profiles and also handles their worldwide shipment. Together with the distribution center and the small parts warehouse, the long goods warehouse is the third automated main warehouse that is completely controlled and managed from the company software.
Production location number one
Over the past five years, GEZE has invested around fourteen million euros in the expansion of buildings and modern manufacturing and logistics facilities in Germany. Around 60% of the products manufactured here are shipped abroad. For further natural growth and to meet the increasing global demand for GEZE products, the company is also focusing on expanding its international sales and service network with 27 foreign subsidiaries and on-site manufacturing. A subsidiary with an affiliated manufacturing facility in China with almost 400 employees and another manufacturing facility in Serbia with 125 employees meet the growing demand in the Asian and Eastern European markets. In addition, a specialist team for special solutions in Sant Feliu de Llobregat near Barcelona supplements the manufacturing capacities in the Spanish subsidiary GEZE Iberia, the company writes.
