Good junior hackers
The national qualification phase for this year's "European Cyber Security Challenge" recently ended. The 20 best young hackers in Switzerland have been selected and are competing for a place in the European final in Düsseldorf.
Switzerland's 20 best young hackers have prevailed against around 150 competitors. The Swiss qualification for the final of the "European Cyber Security Challenge"demanded a lot of stamina, creativity and concentration from the 14 to 30-year-old participants. Over the past three months, they had to solve as many IT security-related tasks as possible via an online platform and score more points than their opponents.
The same thing is happening all over Europe at the moment. This year, for the first time, ten nations are taking part in the "European Cyber Security Challenge", which is growing in size every year. "In addition to Germany, Austria, Spain, England, Romania and Switzerland, Estonia, Ireland, Greece and Lichtenstein are also taking part in the European finals," says Bernhard Tellenbach, president of the association responsible for the Swiss qualification. Swiss Cyber Storm.
The way to the final
The winners of the Swiss qualification will compete at the national final in Sursee from September 16. The ten best finalists will then travel as the Swiss team to the European Championships in Düsseldorf in November. There, they will have to hold their own against teams from nine other countries. In addition to fame and glory, the winners also stand a good chance of receiving lucrative job offers. To this end, most countries hold networking events in addition to the finals. For example, the Swiss finalists will be invited to "Swiss Cyber Storm," an IT security conference to be held in Lucerne on October 19.
