In 2024, GVZ processed a total of 2,666 claims (previous year: 3,599), including 1,058 fire claims and 1,608 natural hazard claims. The total estimated fire damage decreased by around CHF 3.0 million compared to the previous year to CHF 37.3 million (previous year: CHF 40.2 million). With an estimated loss amount of CHF 14.2 million (previous year: CHF 8.2 million), damage caused by natural hazards was higher than in the previous year. This was partly due to the large amounts of rainfall in spring in the Töss Valley and in September in the Embrach Valley, which contributed to the increase in damage caused by natural forces.

The provisional loss figures can be found on the GVZ website can be viewed here. GVZ will publish the final business figures for 2024 at the beginning of May 2025.
