InfoGuard builds a new Cyber Defence Center
InfoGuard looks back on a record year. In order to be able to grow further, the Swiss expert for cyber security is enlarging its office space at its headquarters in Baar and building a new Cyber Defence Center.
"InfoGuard has seen a considerable increase in customers over the last three years, which has also led to a marked growth in sales. We are pleased to report that we were able to grow in all areas last year, from security consulting, security audits and penetration testing to the implementation of comprehensive cyber security and network solutions. However, we recorded the greatest growth in the area of security operation services from our ISO/IEC 27001-certified Security Operation Center (SOC) in Baar," explains Thomas Meier, CEO of InfoGuard. This also has a positive effect on the number of employees: Last year, 20 new jobs were created. InfoGuard employs 80 security experts at its locations in Baar and Bern. Compared to the previous year, sales have once again increased to around 25 million Swiss francs.
SOC new building on 250 m2
"Cyber security is changing. Today, it is critical to detect infiltrations, respond quickly and optimize the security posture accordingly. This requires a SOC with specialized security experts. For several years, we have very successfully operated our own Cyber Defence Center in Baar. SOC services are of strategic importance to InfoGuard. That is why we will build a new SOC at the Baar site and also further strengthen our staff," says Ernesto Hartmann, Chief Security Operations Officer at InfoGuard.
The new building represents a further milestone. On an area of 250 m2 one of the most modern SOCs in Switzerland, where security experts and analysts will be working from mid-May 2017. The SOC will focus exclusively on cyber defense and offer customers comprehensive services such as security information & event management (SIEM), vulnerability management, breach detection, as well as cyber threat intelligence, incident response and forensics. The services would be based on leading detection technologies - also from the field of Artifical Intelligence and Machine Learning. In addition, the SOC architecture offers a sophisticated automation framework to provide the services efficiently and to automate processes to a large extent.
The new Cyber Defence Center has a multi-level physical security concept and the security systems are monitored around the clock, according to the statement. It also meets the strict requirements of Swiss data protection and the guidelines for the Swiss financial sector.
