it-sa: A data protection activist speaks
From October 18 to 20, IT security experts will find out about the latest IT security products and services at the it-sa trade event. Visitors can expect a comprehensive supporting program: Around 230 lectures and discussion rounds are open to them in three forums.
With more than 470 exhibitors, it-sa 2016 is bigger than ever, the organizers emphasize. "IT security experts and decision-makers gain a comprehensive overview of the market by visiting the trade show. In addition, they benefit from the informative Supporting program with its range of products and services tailored to the target group. Congress@it-sa offers additional know-how," explains Frank Venjakob, Executive Director it-sa, NürnbergMesse.
Lecture program in three open forums
The open forums enable quick orientation in the it-sa lecture program with a total of around 230 contributions: While in the forum Red the strategic and economic importance of IT security for companies is the focus, the expert contributions in the forum deal with Blue with the technical implementation. The Auditorium supplements the range of information with presentations on current developments in IT security and is a stage for organizations from the industry and politics.
Among others, the Internet Industry Association Eco will provide information with a panel discussion on vulnerable web applications, a TeleTrusT panel on Industry 4.0 Security and the Federal Office for Information Security on the implementation status of the IT Security Act. The topic of a panel presented by Krankenhaus IT-Journal deserves special attention after successful attacks on hospitals: What challenges and investments do IT managers in the healthcare sector now have to face?
Keynote by privacy activist Schrems
The lawyer and data protection activist Maximilian Schrems, whose lawsuit against Facebook before the European Court of Justice led to the end of the Safe Harbor Agreement with the U.S., will give the keynote address at it-sa (on October 20 at 12:30 p.m. in the auditorium). In his presentation "More data protection through secure IT structures? What the new EU rules demand", he will address the significance of the new regulation, which came into force in May, for IT security managers.
Congress program with international accent
Congress@it-sa offers IT security officers, decision-makers, researchers, etc. a precise range of information on the latest developments in IT security. The topics in the congress program include legal aspects such as the EU General Data Protection Regulation as well as specialist information. In other events, speakers will highlight measures for protecting corporate IT and address the question of which security strategy is currently the right one. For the first time, the internationally oriented EICAR Conference will be held parallel to it-sa. The two-day event already starts on Monday, October 17. This year's 24th edition is themed Trustworthiness of IT Security Solutions.
