Kapo St. Gallen goes mobile

With the 'Kapo goes Mobile' project, the St. Gallen cantonal police have ushered in the mobile age. This is intended to increase the efficiency of the employees.

The corps in eastern Switzerland has equipped its employees with smartphones, introduced an enterprise mobility management solution and is now ready for the secure use of all conceivable mobile solutions: "When our police officers digitally record facts on the spot via smartphone, for example, they not only save themselves time-consuming follow-up work in the office - the information can also be used immediately for further investigations."

With the use of mobile technologies, the St. Gallen Cantonal Police aims to increase the efficiency of its employees. The central management of the devices and apps is carried out via an enterprise mobility management platform (EMM) operated by Abraxas and based on Citrix XenMobile. The platform ensures secure operation of the devices and provides the required apps for the police corps.

Following the completion of the first stage in early summer, the project is now in the next phase. Various apps are now to be developed and introduced by the end of 2016. "Of course, this is just the beginning," explains police commander Bruno Zanga in the Film about the projectt. "We will continue to provide our officers with more applications to make their lives easier on the job."

A case study on the project as well as further information on mobile activities are here to find.
