Economic survey: good business situation for specialist installers
One indicator of market sentiment for security technology solutions is the semi-annual economic survey conducted by the BHE Bundesverband Sicherheitstechnik (German Security Technology Association). According to the latest survey, the situation for specialist installers remains good.
The BHE in Germany asked companies, among other things, to assess their current business situation. On average, they rated this with a value of 1.83 on the school grade scale. According to the BHE, this result is only slightly higher than the previous best value from spring 2016 (1.78). "The order situation on the market is very positive overall, with around two thirds of all respondents awarding the grade 'good' here," explains Urban Brauer, BHE Managing Director.
A look at the assessment of the business situation by customer group confirms this impression: According to the BHE, the commercial sector has received the best average score of 1.86 since the surveys began. The private (2.36) and official (2.61) customer groups are rated comparatively worse, but have been developing positively for years.
Burglar alarm technology and fire protection benefited
According to the data, burglar alarm technology (1.98) and fire protection in particular benefited - the fire alarm technology (1.9) and smoke and heat extraction systems (2.0) divisions achieved new top marks.
Across all specialist areas, installers were confident about the future. On average, they rated their future business situation as 1.95. Almost 75% of those surveyed rated it as "good", according to the report. It is therefore hardly surprising that around 59% of the companies would like to hire additional staff and 39% would like to keep their number of employees constant.
