Cooperation: thermal imaging camera for drones
Flir, which specializes in thermal imaging technology, is entering into a strategic cooperation with drone manufacturer DJI Innovations.
Drones offers the ability to use a camera or sensor in three-dimensional space. The two companies Flir and DJI want to provide camera solutions equipped with thermal imaging technology, for various drone applications such as:
- Search and rescue
- Fire inspection
- 3D cartography
- Building and infrastructure inspections
- Inspection of power supply infrastructures
- etc.
The two cooperation partners also recently launched a first joint product on the market: the DJI Zenmuse XT. It will have all the benefits of DJI's camera image stabilization technology and will be integrated with the Flir Tau 2 thermal imaging camera, they say.
