The focus of Guideline C5 of the Swiss Society for Corrosion Protection (SGK) used to be on the protection of waters by water-polluting liquids and treated corrosion protection measures for underground tanks. This is still valid, but according to the SGK, the scope of validity has been increased with the revised version.

Newly applies to all buried tanks

Previously, only underground tanks for the storage of fuel oil and liquid gas were considered. Now the guideline applies to the corrosion protection of all buried tanks. The current version explains protective measures with and without cathodic corrosion protection. In addition, the prerequisites, measurement methods and protection criteria for the proof of effectiveness are explained.
