With a newly launched project, Health Promotion Switzerland aims to alleviate the consequences of psychological stress for school administrators and teachers.

Teachers, but also school administrators, have to meet increasingly strict demands and challenges in their everyday work. According to Health Promotion Switzerland, this is increasingly leading to psychological and psychosomatic complaints.

To counteract these health consequences, the national foundation is therefore launching the pilot project "S-Tool in schools". To this end, the S-Tool stress survey instrument, which has already been used in many companies and businesses, was further developed to meet the specific needs of training companies. This is an internet-based questionnaire in which employees can record their subjective experience of resources and stress as well as their current state of health. The tool delivers automatically generated results and enables schools to record the current situation.

If the analysis reveals a need, the schools can implement targeted measures to strengthen the mental health of teachers, principals and other people involved in teaching.

The pilot project will initially take place in schools in the cantons of Bern and Schwyz. Initial results are expected in 2017. If the project is a success, the offer will be extended to the whole of Switzerland.
