Guide to the planning of safety lighting
Security lighting is considered an important component of emergency lighting to provide sufficient light immediately and automatically in the event of a power failure. The BHE Bundesverband Sicherheitstechnik e.V. has published a new document on this subject.
The BHE Bundesverband Sicherheitstechnik e.V. has published a new guideline for the professional planning of emergency lighting. Security lighting is an important component of emergency lighting. As an additional lighting system, it is supplied by an independent power source so that light is available immediately in the event of a malfunction or failure to enable affected persons to leave a room safely without causing panic. Safety lighting also assists in rescue operations. Furthermore, fire-fighting or signaling equipment is also marked along escape routes to enable persons not familiar with the area to find their way around. In order to support planners and installers in concept development and planning, the BHE expert committee has produced a new paper which deals in particular with planning and documentation aids, safety lighting and electrically operated, optical safety guidance systems. The checklist is a "dynamic project", which can also be reviewed by a technical committee if required.
(BHE members can find the paper on the homepage www.bhe.de under Specialty Sectors - Safety Lighting (login required).
