The twelfth edition of "maintenance Schweiz" in Zurich will once again inform visitors about the latest solutions and technology trends. Especially in the industrial sector, which has so far been driven by hardware Maintenance software-based solutions such as "IIoT" (Industrial Internet of Things) are becoming increasingly established. They use radio-controlled sensors and data loggers to monitor entire production lines almost independently of location. This opens up opportunities for increasing efficiency and new service offerings.

At the upcoming maintenance Schweiz in Zurich, around 80 exhibitors and about 20 speakers will present their knowledge about these and other digital developments. One term of the hour is "smart maintenance": drives or motors, gearboxes or entire conveyor systems can be monitored with individual modules to keep an eye on them at all times via tablets or AR systems, for example. This allows operators to create damage scenarios before a costly shutdown occurs.

Experience the Digital Transformation live in Zurich

When the terms digital transformation and the age of the IIoT are mentioned, many still think of diffuse data models in the cloud that are no longer as easy to handle as a torque wrench on an engine block. The fact that new jobs can also be created with modern solutions in future-oriented maintenance will be demonstrated live at maintenance Schweiz in Zurich. Sensors, radio modules or RFID chips on machine components centralize even highly complex systems via intelligent software controls. Maintenance as a profession will be upgraded by this development. Measures can be implemented faster and more directly, which reduces the operator's personnel costs. Overall, digitization can thus contribute to job security, the opening of new business models, simplified processes and alleviate the shortage of skilled workers.
