Most stress in everyday working life is human-related. This is the conclusion of a study by InLooxmanufacturer of project management software, among around 220 participants. According to the survey, stressful circumstances such as projects that have to be worked on in parallel or the flood of e-mails are not the main causes of stress at work. Instead, it is primarily a lack of appreciation that increases the subjective perception of stress.

It is true that every second employee feels under time pressure and has the feeling of having too little time for all important tasks. But the perceived appreciation at work is a more decisive factor for the perception of stress: Those who feel that their own work is not respected are more stressed. This also has an influence on the extent to which the job has a negative impact on private life.

Another interesting point from the survey: supervisors are significantly more satisfied with their success than their employees and also feel valued significantly more often. They are also less likely to have high expectations of themselves and more likely to perceive themselves as productive.
