After 39 hours of work should be the end

Anyone who works more than 39 hours a week is putting their health at risk. This is what a new study claims to have found.

Overtime is unhealthy - this should already apply from 39 hours per week.

Working 39 hours per week is the upper limit for not putting your health at risk: Researchers at the Australian National University (ANU) recently published these results in a paper.

However, this does not apply equally to both genders: Since women do more unpaid work at home on average, their limit should be 34 hours per week, while men are allowed up to 47 hours per week.

The study cites data from 8,000 Australians who participated in a survey on household, income, and work dynamics.

Study author and researcher Huong Dinh says the reasons for the negative impact of longer working hours on health are that overworked people don't have enough time to eat healthy and take care of themselves.
