Minimum wages increased
The VSSU security association and the Unia trade union have extended the industry's collective labor agreement and reached an agreement on wages from January 1, 2017.
The CLA minimum wages will be increased for 2017 (between 0.7% and 1%), depending on the employment category as well as the seniority of the employees (see also Minimum wage table). This is stated in the joint media release of the trade union Unia and the Association of Swiss Security Services Companies (VSSU). An increase has been negotiated for hourly-paid security employees from the fourth year of service and for monthly-paid employees in the first and last year of service, according to the CLA wage scale. Money and value transporters on monthly wages would benefit from similar wage increases, it further said.
Protection against wage dumping
Through the member companies of the VSSU, 15,000 security employees are covered by the industry's CLA. The application for an extension of the declaration of general applicability is pending with the Federal Council and is intended to extend protection against wage dumping to a total of over 20,000 security employees. In an environment characterized by fierce competition, the VSSU and Unia are calling for security contracts to be awarded only to companies that can demonstrate compliance with the CLA and the industry standards that will apply as of January 1, 2017.
