New information platform launched on the subject of fire protection
A new online platform on fire protection provides architects and planners with relevant information on fire protection.
The Bern Building Insurance (GVB) wants to explain the topic of fire protection to its contacts in a simple and understandable way: On the new information platform "Heureka", architects and planners can find all relevant information on the applicable fire protection regulations for simple building projects. The new information channel is said to be an ideal supplement to the technical advice provided by GVB's in-house experts in the field of fire protection.
User-friendly
Heureka" is based on the fire safety regulations of the Association of Cantonal Fire Insurers (VKF), which were revised at the beginning of 2015. These apply throughout Switzerland and guarantee a high level of prevention: nowhere else do so few people die in fires as in Switzerland. "Heureka" provides information on common uses such as housing, agriculture, offices, retail stores or even daycare centers. The most important rules applicable throughout Switzerland and in the canton of Bern are clearly presented on the free platform. Anyone who enters the key data of their project will receive customized information: for example, on structural requirements, technical fire protection measures or organizational specifications. Those looking for more in-depth information can also use the links that lead to the official guidelines.
Not for complex construction projects
With "Heureka", the GVB is responding to a need among architects and planners, because the professionals are dependent on quickly available, easily understandable and, above all, conclusive information on fire protection requirements for simple building projects. However, the platform is not suitable for fire protection planning, which is necessary for complex projects such as industrial buildings or shopping centers, according to the GVB. For these uses, "Heureka" only provides basic information.
