New regulations for work in positive pressure

The Federal Council approves the revised ordinance on safety when working in positive pressure.

Work in positive pressure, for example under water, is newly regulated.

The previous regulation on the subject of work in positive pressure, for example construction work in compressed air or diving work, is already over 50 years old. It therefore no longer meets current occupational safety requirements in many respects.

The Federal Council has therefore commissioned a revision of the ordinance. This is now ready and was approved by the Federal Council in its meeting on April 15. It will come into force on January 1, 2016.

The new ordinance takes particular account of advances in technology and occupational medicine. It is available on the federal website for Download available.
