New Delegate for National Economic Supply
The Federal Council has recognized Werner Meier as the new Delegate for National Economic Supply. He succeeds Gisèle Girgis-Musy.
Werner Meier will take up his new position in January 2016. He is Head of Group Security and Business Continuity Management at Alpiq AG. Since 2003, Meier has been a member of the militia organization of the National Economic Supply. Until 2012, he headed the Energy sector in the Information Infrastructure division. Since 2013, he has headed the Energy sector and is responsible for the business continuity of the nationally relevant energy supply of goods and services (electricity, mineral oil, gas, wood and drinking water).
Meier succeeds Gisèle Girgis-Musy, who is retiring at the end of 2015 after more than nine years as delegate.
