The increasing attacks from the Internet on Swiss companies and institutions, as well as the recently publicized spy software from abroad had shown how important it was for the population and the economy to become more active in this area, as the canton of Zug stated in a press release. writes.

New contact point

With the creation of an independent and well-equipped test institute for cyber security and a central information and contact point, important cornerstones for the defense against the dangers from cyberspace are in place, Finance Director Heinz Tännler is quoted as saying. The infiltration of ransomware and the subsequent encryption of valuable data are a major threat to the population.

The NTC investigates the security and trustworthiness of cyber-physical components, operates its own testing and research infrastructure for this purpose, and works closely with universities, private security testing providers, and international testing centers. In addition, the NTC exchanges information with cyber organizations at home and abroad, as well as with the National Cyber Security Center (NCSC).
