Emergency aid course at summer camp: new participation record
At the training and vacation camp of the Swiss Military Medical Association, 215 young people learn the basic rules of first aid.
This year's training and vacation camp (AULA) of the Swiss Military Medical Association (SMSV) starts with a new record number of participants. 215 young people aged between 13 and 22 will learn the basic rules of first aid. The vacation camp, which will be held from October 3 to 10 in S-chanf (GR), is supported by specialist personnel from the Swiss Red Cross (SRC) and the Swiss Army.
For the 32nd time and with a new record of 215 participants, the AULA training and vacation camp will be held for the first time at the S-chanf troop accommodation. During one week, the young people can learn the basics of first aid under the guidance of paramedics, nurses and certified instructors. In addition, the emergency aid course can be completed at the vacation camp, which is a prerequisite for obtaining the learner's driving license for motorcycles, cars and trucks.
In the troop accommodation in S-chanf, around 80 volunteers from the SMSV, supported by specialist personnel from the SRC and the logistics base of the army, provide an instructive, varied and exciting training course on the first aid treatment of injured persons. The participants learn how to provide correct first aid in both private and professional environments.
Also in the coming years the AULA will take place in the troop accommodation in S-chanf (GR). For 2016, the date October 8 to 15 has been set. Interested parties can find under www.aula-jugendlager.ch more information.
