The international specialist event on cyber security, which is it-sa, is meanwhile considered the trade fair with the largest number of exhibitors on this topic. It will be held in Nuremberg from October 8 to 10, 2019. Around 700 exhibitors will be on site, and the exhibition will occupy four halls for the first time.

Congress program

The event will be accompanied by a Congress program. The highlights include the "it-sa insights" with their product-neutral presentations and expert discussions. The English-language "International Forum" also promises interesting information. The forum presentations will focus on legal issues and IT security trends such as the use of artificial intelligence as well as IT security for Industry 4.0 and critical infrastructures. Furthermore, short presentations by exhibitors will be held in all halls.

Keynote speaker is an investigative journalist

The Special Keynote Speaker at it-sa 2019 is called Misha Glenny. The award-winning British investigative journalist, author of the best-selling book McMafia and cybercrime expert, will speak at Forum International on Thursday, October 10 at 12 noon. Glenny breaks with the common notion that humans are the weakest link in a stable IT security chain. In his talk, "The Vitruvian Paradox: The Changing Face of the Human in Cyber Security," he argues that the increasing complexity of our digital infrastructure poses an even greater threat. Glenny, who also advises corporate boards on IT security, shows why change is needed all the way to the highest levels of management: Only with a comprehensive awareness of digital dangers can the triumph of globally operating hackers under the sign of organized crime be prevented.

Twelve start-ups nominated for award

Already one day before the start of the trade event, young companies and their innovative business ideas move into the focus of the IT security community. UP19@it-sa once again offers IT security start-ups a special stage: Twelve young companies, selected by an expert jury from 35 applications, present themselves to potential supporters and investors in the pitch for the UP@it-sa award. The following companies were able to convince the expert jury: 5FSoftware, Asvin, Brighter AI Technologies, Build 38, Emproof, Enginsight, IDEA, Nect, Perseus, Perun, Statice as well as Tenzir.

After the presentations, participants can talk to the start-ups to find out more about the products presented. The winner of the UP19@it-sa Award will be chosen by public vote.
