Slope expansion for driving safety center

The traditional groundbreaking ceremony on October 1 marked the start of construction work on the expansion of the TCS Road Safety Center Betzholz in Hinwil, Zurich. Thanks to the expansion, 250 - 320 additional courses per year can be held at Betzholz in the future. TCS is thus responding to the continuously increasing demand for driver safety training.

The TCS held driving courses at the Betzholz site as early as the 1980s. The first good 10 years on a small square. The demand for Driving safety training soon exceeded capacity even then. For this reason, the current center, the largest of its kind in Switzerland, was planned at the turn of the millennium and put into operation in 2003. Today, 1200 courses with a total of 28,000 participants take place in Betzholz every year. In this way, the TCS makes a significant contribution to the Road safety on Swiss roads.

Start of construction work

For several years now, the demand for driver training has once again reached a level that exceeds the capabilities of the existing infrastructure. With a capacity utilization of almost 90% on 356 operating days per year, it is becoming increasingly difficult to still satisfy the steadily rising demand. The expansion of the driving safety center in Hinwil, Zurich, has therefore been a logical consequence for TCS for some time. After extensive project planning work and a comprehensive approval process, construction work can now begin today.
