Around 54 percent of those surveyed rated their current market situation as "good," with 33 percent even rating it as "very good," according to Urban Brauer, managing director of the BHE. "The average score of 1.82 achieved on the school grading scale means the third-best result since the surveys began." "The good mood in the security market is marred only by the tight personnel situation."

In the breakdown into customer groups, the authorities were able to record a new record. Whereas the business situation in this sector was assessed at 2.93 five years ago, the value has now improved to 2.47. Compared with the fall survey (2.48), the private market was again able to make slight gains and, at 2.43, is at roughly the same level as the public authorities sector, as the BHE writes.

There is a fairly clear gap to the strongest customer group, the commercial sector. With a score of 1.82, this was down slightly on the previous best score in fall 2017 (1.76), but was still the second-best score ever measured.

According to the BHE, specialist installers are quite positive about the future. Across all customer groups and trades, they expect a very good to good future business situation (1.96). For this reason, many companies (56 percent) are still looking for additional staff.
