New sports app from the Swiss Armed Forces
Being physically and mentally ready for recruit school is a challenge. The new app ready #teamarmee, jointly developed by the army and the Federal Office of Sport (FOSPO), helps conscripts prepare before they are recruited. So that they are up to the later requirements and the risk of injury during recruit school remains low.
The new sports app ready #teamarmee was released on March 4, 2019. It was developed primarily for young people who want to prepare themselves physically and mentally for recruitment and recruit school. In addition to the functions of conventional sports apps with additional information on motivation, nutrition and a healthy lifestyle, ready #teamarmee offers a major innovation: the app calculates a precisely tailored training program based on the input of a desired military function - from tank sapper and company soldier to paratrooper and grenadier. Sports program. This is intended to help young men and women reach the fitness level they need to be eligible for the desired function. Of course, using the app cannot guarantee being classified in the desired function. The App also offers a contribution to health maintenance: trained people are generally more motivated and less prone to injuries. Thus, as a side effect, the dropout rate would also be reduced.
The app is jointly developed by the Swiss army and the FOSPO. The sports units were developed by scientists from the Swiss Federal Institute of Sport Magglingen (EHSM), the additional information on motivation and mental strength by the Department of Military Psychology and Military Education of the Military Academy at the ETH Zurich (MILAK).
