Reflectors from the spray can
A reflective spray that is invisible during the day is designed to increase the safety of vulnerable road users.
Swedish car manufacturer Volvo wants to improve the safety of cyclists and pedestrians at night - with spray-on reflectors.
The "Lifepaint" spray can be sprayed on clothing, the bike helmet, the dog leash, the backpack or on the whole bike. The highlight: While the paint is invisible during the day, it reflects headlights at night, making cyclists glow. Unlike with bright yellow high-visibility vests and reflective tapes, the clothing thus remains neutral - an important argument, because often the protective elements are not worn precisely for this reason.
The spray should be harmless to clothing and other materials and last about a week, Volvo promises.
At the moment, LifePaint is only available in the UK, where the company is testing the spray.
