Electromobility roadmap extended to 2025
By the end of 2025, the share of purely electric cars and plug-in hybrids in new registrations is to reach 50 percent. In addition, 20,000 generally accessible charging stations are to be available in Switzerland by then.
The Roadmap Elektromobililtät has been running at the Federal Department of the Environment, Transport, Energy and Communications since 2018 and has been extended until 2025. This further stage was launched by representatives of the automotive, electricity and real estate industries, among others, together with municipalities on May 16, 2022 in Biel with their signatures. Now, with updated measures, further ambitious goals are to be achieved together by 2025.
Three new targets have now been defined for the new stage. By the end of 2025, the proportion of plug-in vehicles (pure electric cars and plug-in hybrids) should reach 50 percent of new registrations. In the first quarter of 2022, the share was 25.5 percent, according to the Uvek. By the end of 2025, 20,000 generally accessible charging stations should be available. At the beginning of 2022, there were around 7150 in Switzerland. Finally, the third goal is qualitative user-friendly charging at home, at the workplace and on the road.
