Recall: Ortovox 3+ avalanche transceiver
In cooperation with the Federal Office of Communications (OFCOM), Ortovox Sportartikel GmbH is recalling the Ortovox 3+ avalanche transceiver with software version 2.1. A temporary malfunction of the transmission function cannot be excluded.
Due to a software error, there may be a temporary malfunction in the transmit function. In the worst case, this could result in a delay of the rescue in case of a Avalanche burial be connected. The affected devices will be repaired free of charge by the Ortovox Service Center by means of a software update.
Which products are affected?
Avalanche beacons (avalanche beacons) of the Ortovox 3+ model with software version 2.1 are affected by the product recall. Ortovox 3+ avalanche beacons with software versions 1.0, 1.1, 2.0, 2.2 and all other Ortovox avalanche beacons (S1+, S1, ZOOM) are not affected. On the Homepage of the manufacturer you will find instructions on how to identify affected devices. Consumers in possession of such a search device are asked to follow the instructions.
What should affected consumers do?
The devices affected by the recall may no longer be used without the required software update. Customers in possession of one of the affected search devices are requested to send the affected avalanche beacons to Ortovox for a software update.
