Save symposium: Innovation through performance- and risk-based fire protection
Under the conference title "Innovation through performance- and risk-based fire protection", SAVE AG will ensure a transfer of knowledge between experts, clients, planners and authorities on March 11, 2025 in Zurich.

The fire protection regulations allow for completely different and innovative solutions to the prescriptive standard case. With performance- and risk-based approaches, the required protection goals in fire protection are achieved particularly efficiently because, among other things, only those measures that are efficient and necessary need to be implemented.
The aim of fire protection is to provide comprehensive protection for people, buildings and infrastructure systems. The fire protection standards require tailor-made measures for a wide variety of building types and forms of use. With the new generation of fire protection regulations (FSIO 2026), the risk-based approach will play a central role. This makes it possible to optimize measures not according to a rigid standard scheme, but on the basis of scientific engineering evidence.
The conference will take a practical look at how performance and risk-based approaches can ensure an appropriate level of protection and be designed more efficiently. In addition to looking at construction projects that combine standardized and risk-based methods, the challenges posed by complex projects will also be addressed. The aim is to overcome conflicting objectives between the client's requirements and the protection goals through innovative, holistic solutions.
