Swiss highlights at CeBIT

Today at the international CeBIT Press Preview, 29 exhibitors, including five from Switzerland, showed what highlights await visitors. Switzerland is the center of attention this time.

This year, Switzerland is the official partner country of CeBIT.

On March 14, the President of the Swiss Confederation, Johann Schneider-Ammann, together with the Deputy Chancellor of Germany, Sigmar Gabriel, will present the CeBIT and on March 15, together with the German Chancellor Angela Merkel, begin the two-hour tour of the trade fair at the partner country Swiss Pavilion.

Switzerland is prominently represented as a partner country at CeBIT this year. The approximately 1500 m2 Partner Country Swiss Pavilion is fully booked with 50 exhibitors except for a few square meters. Established Swiss companies, start-ups and educational institutions, as well as the national Swiss Innovation Park project, are taking advantage of the international attention. National Councillor Franz Grüter, member of the board of ICTswitzerland: "Switzerland is the world champion in innovation for the fifth time in a row: Swiss companies, start-ups and universities will be demonstrating this with products and visionary solutions on more than 1700 m2 of exhibition space. I am proud that the Swiss presence at CeBIT 2016 will be almost ten times larger than in previous years."

Swiss providers convince

At today's CeBIT Press Preview, five local exhibitors will be giving a first taste of Switzerland's major presence: Noser Young Professionals AG, a competence center for basic and advanced vocational training, will be showcasing Switzerland's IT apprenticeship program, which for many young professionals is a springboard to a successful ICT career. ETH Zurich will present its flagship project Skye, an unprecedented concept that combines the elegant and safe flight of a zeppelin with the precise flight characteristics of a quadrocopter and, with its integrated camera system, resembles a floating eye in the sky. The ETH spin-off Wingtra is an innovative Swiss start-up that develops hybrid flying robots that fly without a pilot and are used in nature conservation, agriculture and logistics. SIX Group, which operates the Swiss financial center infrastructure and offers comprehensive services worldwide in the areas of securities trading and settlement as well as financial information and payment transactions, covers the important fintech segment. At CeBIT, the software company AdNovum will present the market-leading Security Suite Nevis in Switzerland, a field-proven, highly scalable solution for identity and access management, federation, and governance.
