SES honors junior staff

Security specialists are solution-oriented and can lead project teams. The Swiss Association of Security Systems Installers has presented the diplomas to the young professionals of the Security Systems Project Manager course.

After last year's graduates had to be put off with vouchers due to the pandemic, the Association of Swiss Installers of Security Systems (SES) did not miss the opportunity to welcome this year's graduates at a festive graduation ceremony at the noble Hotel Storchen in Zurich. The part-time course of all six modules lasts 18 months each. 19 graduates now have the diploma in their pockets.

"Stay agile and don't just let yourself drift with the changes, but try to shape the changes yourself," said President Dr. Peter Nebiker during the diploma presentation to the 19 freshly graduated project managers.

The world of work is changing rapidly - and so are complexity and networking. As a result, there is also an increasing demand on the management side. Nebiker gave the graduates some good advice: building up a good basis of trust with partners and customers takes a lot of time and personal contact.

First place "Safety" with a grade point average of 5.0 went to Manuel Waser. Antonio Bova (not present) and Gaetano Gravagno with the grade 4.9 as well as Marc Hänggi were allowed to climb the second podium place "Safety". The first place with focus on "Fire" was won by Minh-Viet Huynh.

The president of the SES association went on to say that he believes the future of the security industry is more exciting than ever. Market and technology developments are accelerating rapidly. Up-to-date training would help to master the current developments.

The further training, which is offered in cooperation with the SES association, provides participants with extensive basic and specialist knowledge in the planning, execution and operation of security systems. After completing the training, course participants can take the federal professional examination to become a project manager for security systems.

Modular expansion according to focus

The in-service training course Project Manager Safety Systems with a federal certificate of proficiency enables safety technology specialists to manage entire safety projects, from planning to operation. The course was first offered in 2009 in cooperation with the Winterthur Technical College (SFTW). Since then, up to 20 professionals have completed the additional training each year. To date, the advanced training, which can be completed part-time at the Swiss Technical College Winterthur (STFW), has been offered in the field of safety and fire. In the future, the training course will be offered in other modular specializations in the safety technology sector.
