SFPE: Wood construction and fire protection
The professional association SFPE (Society of Fire Protection Engineers Switzerland), founded last November, will soon hold a colloquium on the subject of timber construction and fire protection.
On September 6, 2019, Zurich will host the SFPE Switzerland-Colloquium 01/2019 will take place at ETH Zurich. News from research, standardization and developments in timber construction will be offered.
The program of September 6, 2019 in brief overview:
- From 14:45: Arrival of the guests
- Lecture 1 at 15:00: "The new Eurocode as a tool for the fire design of timber structures", Joachim Schmid, ETH Zurich
- Paper 2 at 3:45 p.m.: "Fire Safety in Tall Timber Buildings," Prof. Andy Buchanan, University of Canterbury.
- From about 16:45: Apéro
- From about 6:00 p.m.: optional dinner together with speakers in the vicinity of ETH Zurich (at own expense)
A Registration to the colloquium is required. Also non-members of SFPE-Switzerland can attend the event.
