Every year, around 23,000 apprentices in Switzerland have an accident at work - three of these accidents are even fatal. Suva's campaign "Safe apprenticeship" is committed to ensuring that young professionals start their working lives safely.

To the SwissSkillsThe Career Championships for Young Talents, which will take place in Bern from September 17 to 21, 2025, will bring this commitment directly to young people - with impressive experiences, clear messages and practical tips for everyday working life.

Experience how security works in everyday life

At the Suva stand in the outdoor area in front of Hall 11, visitors can experience what safety means in everyday life. For example, the eye football makes the consequences of eye injuries tangible, the ride on the VR bike shows what a difference a helmet can make, and the tripping course makes it clear that multitasking does not work. The buzzer game also pits two people against each other with their knowledge of work and leisure safety. Actors with visible injuries also encourage people to reflect. The highlight on Saturday will be the influencers Gabri Oldham aka Gman and Bryan Slade as well as the moderation duo Moser & Schelker (Radio Energy). They will share personal experiences and tips on safety during the apprenticeship.

Why the "safe apprenticeship period" counts

Suva is using the campaign to raise awareness not only among apprentices, but also among vocational trainers and vocational schools. The focus is on simple rules, clear language and concrete tools that can be used directly in everyday life. SwissSkills offers an ideal platform for conveying this knowledge in a practical way.
