Safety for the youngest

Safe behavior starts in childhood. This is why the BFU's new prevention program is aimed at schools.

Safe craftsmanship at school needs to be learned.

The Swiss Council for Accident Prevention (BFU) wants to bring the topic of safety into schools. With the "Safe Schools" program, accident prevention is to be systematically integrated into everyday school life in the future.

Schools, teachers and building services can use the new internet platform safe-school.bfu.ch which is already available in a basic version and will be expanded on an ongoing basis. Pupils can use online games to learn how to behave on the way to school, for example.

The platform also offers various information on topics such as safety during activities such as swimming lessons or on bike tours, safe infrastructures and safety at school - for example, what to look out for in chemistry lessons or what dangers there are in handicraft lessons. Lesson sheets are designed to help teachers strengthen the safety awareness of their pupils.
