Security control: Zurich Airport receives award
Zurich Airport wins the Skytrax Award in the category "World's Best Airport Security" for 2019, based on factors such as waiting times at security checkpoints, security standards and the competence of security staff.
For the second time after 2016, the Zurich airport the Skytrax "World's Best Airport Security" award. The award ceremony took place on March 27, 2019, at the Passenger Terminal Expo in London. In the corresponding ranking, Tokyo-Narita Airport took second place and Tokyo-Haneda third.
Zurich Airport with 12 million passengers
In 2018, around twelve million passengers passed through the security check at Zurich Airport. The security check is carried out by the Zurich Cantonal Police on behalf of Flughafen Zürich AG.
Largest survey worldwide
Skytrax is a London-based consultancy specializing in aviation. Since 1999, Skytrax has been awarding prizes in various categories to airports and airlines. For this purpose, travelers from all over the world are surveyed annually about their experiences at airports. The Skytrax Awards are presented on the basis of these surveys. With around 13 million participants, it is the world's largest survey of customer satisfaction in air travel.
