Safety shoes for the connective tissue

Everything is connected. Our muscles, bones and organs are surrounded by connective tissue - the fasciae. Together with researchers, Haix has developed a completely new occupational safety shoe. The editors of SAFETY-PLUS spoke with Denise Bürgi, Managing Director of Haix Switzerland, in Düsseldorf.

Ms. Bürgi, what is your very special highlight at A+A 2019?

Denise Bürgi: Our highlight is our new shoe series "Connexis Safety" - a world first. The special feature of this shoe is its integrated fascia band. We have developed this system together with the orthopedist Dr. Norbert Becker developed. We also received additional feedback from leading fascia researcher Dr. Robert Schleip receive

The goal was not to install the umpteenth cushioning system, but to create something completely new. We succeeded in doing that with this shoe. For example, instead of a curved last, a flat one was used. The shoe therefore takes into account the natural needs of the feet.

How was this technically implemented?

Fasciae run through our entire body and hold it together. This is where the special function of the fascia band comes into play: when you close the shoe, a tensile force is created that is passed on as stimulation to the fascia in the sole of the foot.

Young people are still very stretchable due to their loose fascial tissue. The older we get, the more the fasciae stick together and the stretching ability is increasingly reduced.

Is normal walking with the new shoe the equivalent of a light fitness workout, so to speak?

Yes, the Fitness is demonstrably improved: the stimulating effect of the fascia band on the sole of the foot results in a loosening of the connective tissue. Thus, one can achieve an increase in general well-being and slow down physical fatigue. Knee and back experience a lasting relief.

Your booth concept is different than at the last A+A in 2017. What will be special in 2019??

Downstairs on the hall level we show our assortment and especially of course the entire Connexis collection. In addition, there will be technical presentations by our experts. In the upper area of the booth, our sales representatives receive dealers from all over the world.

A very special highlight is the demonstration of our employees, which shows how the stimulation of the fasciae increases the stretching ability of the body. Visitors are always quite amazed at the positive effects that a few minutes of foot sole massage can have on the entire body.
