With sales of 1.471 billion Swiss francs and 5901 employees in the country, the technology group is demonstrating that the demand for digitalization and electrification continues unabated.

In the first six months of the current fiscal year 2026 (01.10.2025 to 31.03.2026), the Siemens companies in Switzerland generated revenue of 1.471 billion Swiss francs, which is at a similar level to last year (1.499 billion Swiss francs), the company announced.
The Zug-based global business unit Siemens Smart Infrastructure recorded sales of 11.462 billion euros in the first half of the year. As one of the largest technology employers in the country, Siemens currently employs 5901 people in Switzerland.
Demand for future-oriented technologies from Siemens remained high in the past six months. AI is a clear growth driver for Siemens« hardware, software and service business. The continued relevance of solutions for digitalization and electrification was unbroken at Siemens in Switzerland. »Our innovative solutions in the areas of digitalization and electrification as well as mobility have been in great demand from customers from various industries in Switzerland over the past six months. This underlines our commitment to driving forward the country's digital and sustainable transformation,« says Gerd Scheller, Country CEO of Siemens Switzerland. »I was particularly pleased that SBB awarded Siemens the contract to supply the new double-decker trains for the Zurich S-Bahn and Western Switzerland."
Forward-looking projects
In the first half of the year, Siemens presented a large number of forward-looking projects in Switzerland. In November 2025, SBB announced that it had awarded the contract for the delivery of 116 double-decker trains to Siemens. The trains will be used on the Zurich S-Bahn network and in western Switzerland from 2031 and will offer passengers greater comfort and more capacity. The contract also includes an option for the delivery of 84 additional double-decker trains.
Siemens has reached an important milestone in the field of energy supply with its advanced electrification technology: for the first time, comprehensive transparency is being created in the low-voltage grid for the energy supply company IBC Energie Wasser Chur (IBC). Thanks to this solution, around 40,000 people in the greater Chur area will benefit from a more secure and future-proof power supply. The IoT suite Electrification X is at the heart of this: it enables continuous access to grid data, detailed analyses based on key performance indicators and automated alerts. This enables grid operators to optimize grid stability and respond proactively to the challenges of the energy transition.
New generation of fire detectors
In March 2026, Siemens the next generation of fire detectors before: The Sinteso Nova portfolio, which was developed and is produced in Zug, Switzerland, is revolutionizing traditional fire protection. Thanks to advanced detection technology and cloud connectivity, these IoT-networked systems enable 24/7 self-checks, real-time monitoring and predictive maintenance. The result: increased operational safety and improved efficiency for service and maintenance teams.
The Zug-based global business unit Siemens Smart Infrastructure, which employs around 80,000 people worldwide, also continued to grow in a dynamic environment. «We were able to continue our volume growth on a comparable basis in all businesses,» says Matthias Rebellius, member of the Managing Board of Siemens AG and CEO of Siemens Smart Infrastructure. Profit has grown steadily over 22 quarters, driven in part by continued strong global demand for data centers and electrification. «Smart Infrastructure has delivered excellent results despite a difficult economic and political environment worldwide,» says Rebellius.
In Switzerland, Siemens has a strong market position in building technology and energy distribution (Smart Infrastructure) as well as in industrial and drive technology (Digital Industries and Siemens Industry Software). The company also holds a leading position in rail technology (Siemens Mobility).
