SSI Association presided by woman for the first time
Blanche Schlegel has recently been elected as the new SSI President. She succeeds David Grossmann, who remains on the board as Past-President. Peter Jost is the new vice president. Markus Good completes the presidency as head of the office of the Swiss Association of Independent Safety Engineers and Consultants.

At the SSI General Assembly on September 17, 2020, the time had come: Blanche Schlegel was unanimously elected as the new President. Until now, she had held the office of Vice President. This is the first time that a woman has taken the helm of the SSI. Schlegel is head of the business area Occupational Safety/Health Protection, Integral Risk Management and Environmental Safety at the member company Swiss Safety Center AG.
David Grossmann remains Past President
The outgoing president - David Grossmann, in management and head of energy and safety at Basler & Hofmann AG - will remain on the SSI board as past president for at least two years, the association writes. Grossmann has led the SSI's fortunes for the past four years, initiating various activities and purposefully advancing the association with his great commitment. It should be emphasized, for example, that during his term of office he has SFPE Switzerlanda Swiss professional association for fire protection engineering. Along with this, he was instrumental in the development of the Master's degree program for engineering fire protection at ETH Zurich. The program premiered in September 2020 and has started with 14 students.
Peter Jost is Vice President
Peter Jost is a new member of the board as vice president. In his professional capacity, Jost heads the fire protection and safety consulting department at SSI member company Basler & Hofmann AG.
The board is completed by the previous and re-elected head of the SSI office in the person of Markus Good from the conference company Save AG.

SSI is 40 years old
The Swiss Association of Independent Safety Engineers and Consultants was founded in 1980. It is an association that faces the constant change of the overriding topics of risk management, safety and fire protection, takes on the current and new challenges and masters them successfully with its member companies. And this especially in times when Covid-19 strongly demands safety with all its manifestations.
