Army staff officers appointed
At its meeting on March 12, 2021, the Federal Council appointed two senior air force staff officers. The promotions will take effect on July 1, 2021.
The Federal Council approved two appointments of senior staff officers effective July 1, 2021, in a March 12 meeting.
Brigadier Hugo Roux, former commander of the Lehrverband Fliegerabwehr 33, was appointed by the Federal Council as the new commander of the Military Academy as of July 1, 2021.
During his law studies at the University of Fribourg, the 51-year-old worked, among other things, as a law teacher at the vocational school in Murten. At that time, he completed advanced training at the U.S. Air Force Command and Staff College in Maxwell from 2002 to 2003, among other courses. From January to July 2017, he was appointed ad interim by the Federal Council as Commander Lehrverband Fliegerabwehr 33 and simultaneously promoted to Brigadier in July 2017.
The brigadier Peter Sollerwho currently serves as Commander Air Force Education and Training Brigade, will be promoted to Commander Lehrverband Fliegerabwehr 33 effective July 2021.
The 54-year-old Soller has been a professional military pilot in the Air Guard surveillance squadron since 1989. On June 1, 2010, he was appointed by the Federal Council as Chief of Staff Armed Forces and Chief of Staff Armed Forces, with simultaneous promotion to Brigadier General.
