Suisse Public opens its doors soon

The Suisse Public, the leading Swiss trade fair for the public sector, opens its doors again after a longer corona-related break. From June 6 to 9, the trade event offers a comprehensive industry overview and networking platform at the Bernexpo site. Highlights also include "Occupational Safety" and the "FireFit Europe Tour".

The Suisse Public is the most important meeting place for professionals and procurement managers in public enterprises and large companies. From June 6 to 9, over 330 exhibitors will be presenting new products, the latest services and pioneering new products and innovations in several halls and on the open-air site.

During the four days of the fair, Bernexpo Groupe, as organizer of Suisse Public, expects around 12,000 visitors. "In recent years, direct contact has been particularly lacking, which is why personal encounters and direct exchanges are valued all the more," says exhibition manager Christoph Lanz. According to Lanz, 95% of the space was already booked at the beginning of February. The interest in the trade fair was noticeably high on the part of both exhibitors and visitors.

Nine themes

Suisse Public offers nine different thematic areas, ranging from municipal vehicles and machinery, as well as fire and rescue services, road signalization and traffic, to municipal IT solutions. After the six-year break, the exhibitors will present numerous innovations and new developments in all areas, according to those responsible for the trade fair. There are clear trends towards more sustainability, digitalization, the use of new technologies and alternative motorization. E-mobility is definitely making its way into municipal yards and rescue centers. According to the organizer, Suisse Public has never seen so many car brands and suppliers with corresponding offers for the public sector. On display were both zero-emission rescue and fire-fighting vehicles, which, with the latest technologies, would herald the next generation of smart and networked rescue services.

In addition to the classic display of exhibits, the exhibitors now also present their products in action, as Bernexpo writes. This both on asphalt, green spaces or even in the air.

Suisse Public SMART with accompanying conference and Solution Park

The Suisse Public SMART is dedicated as a "trade fair within the trade fair" to the smart further development of municipal infrastructures and the digital transformation of administrative services at municipalities and cities. According to the organizers, the smart city issue not only affects large cities, but also municipalities in particular, which are making their infrastructures and services more sustainable, CO2-neutral and, thanks to new technologies - digitalization, AI and open data - also more networked and thus more resident-friendly. Suisse Public SMART functions here as an important exchange platform and mediator between all the players involved from the federal government, cantons, municipalities, associations, science and industry. Thus, the four-day conference, parallel to the exhibition area, forms a complementary platform for knowledge transfer and exchange of experience.

Action-packed firefighting competitions

Since the beginning of Suisse Public, the sector of blue-light organizations has been one of the pillars of the leading trade fair for the public sector and attracts many visitors. This year, a special highlight is in store for this sector: The FireFit Europe Tour is making a stop in Bern. Strength, stamina and speed will be in demand when the best firefighters compete at Suisse Public in the individual, tandem and relay categories. While the first two days will be spent training diligently, Thursday and Friday will be dedicated to the final and the qualification for the FireFit Championships Europe. Spectacle is guaranteed, because in addition to the competitions, visitors can also experience Europe's most modern firefighting training tower in action.

Occupational safety as a focus topic

This year, the focus will be on occupational health and safety as well as employee well-being, according to a statement from the Bernexpo event. Suissepublic is even dedicating a separate exhibition area to this topic. The topic of occupational health and safety will be taken into account in the context of pioneering innovations.

Various lectures and presentations round off the Program of Suisse Public.
