Good SVTI business year
The Swiss Association for Technical Inspections looks back on a good business year 2016. The course of business and the volume of activity were in line with the high expectations in almost all inspectorates, writes the SVTI. The subsidiaries fell slightly short of expectations with their results.
The SVTI-Group structured and concretized its strategic projects for digitization and functional safety in the 2016 association year and at the same time pushed ahead with the project for the extension building (see photo) in Wallisellen ZH, according to the media release on the occasion of the 148th association meeting held recently in Thun.
According to the SVTI, it can generally be assumed that self-monitoring systems will increasingly be set up in technical plants in the future. In concrete terms, this means that inspectors will no longer only take measurements on site, but will also be able to inspect from outside via digitally networked systems in the spirit of Industry 4.0.
Solid operating results
In view of the economic challenges, the operating result of the inspectorates was very good at CHF 734,087, as the SVTI emphasizes. In various industries, there were significant relocations of production abroad - with corresponding effects on the order volumes of the inspectorates and subsidiaries. The consolidated financial statements of the SVTI Group (including the associated company SVTI Services Ltd. and subsidiaries IWT, Swissi, Swiss TS) show a consolidated activity volume of 46.25 million Swiss francs. The consolidated operating result of the group is CHF 1.15 million and the consolidated annual result is CHF 473,548.
Change in the Board of Management
At the association meeting, the members elected the current board member Andreas Pfeiffer for a further term of office of three years. Patrice Voumard has resigned from the SVTI board for professional reasons. The attendees elected Thomas Mettler, graduate mechanical engineer ETH, who took up his position as Head of Engineering Strategic Business Unit Food at Nestec in Vevey on July 1, 2017.
Since January 2017, Raffael Schubiger, dipl. Masch.-Ing. ETH, has headed the subsidiaries Swissi and Swiss TS as CEO. The Chairman of the SVTI Executive Board, Herbert Egolf, continues to serve as Chairman of the Boards of Directors of IWT, Swissi and Swiss TS.
