Swiss RE warns against 5G

Concerns about possible negative health effects of electromagnetic fields? The insurer assures that 5G is not safe, and therefore not insurable, as can be seen in diagnose:funk's current news on Swiss RE's media release.

Swiss RE, one of the world's largest reinsurers, warns of the risks of 5G in its May 22, 2019 press release, "Swiss Re Institute's annual SONAR report presents 15 new risk topics and 5 new trending topics that the reinsurance industry needs to have on its radar. "Digital technology is colliding with existing infrastructure, resulting in new risks from the proliferation of 5G mobile networks, increasingly limited fiscal and monetary flexibility, and genetic testing and its impact on the insurance industry are challenges with potentially high implications....".

Out of control (off the leash): The spread of 5G technology
5G will enable real-time wireless connectivity for any Internet of Things (IoT) device, such as autonomous cars or sensor-driven factories. Current concerns about potential negative health effects of electromagnetic fields are likely to increase. In addition, hackers can also leverage the speed and volume of 5G to capture (or steal) more data faster. Among the biggest concerns are potential privacy and security breaches and espionage." (1)

Let off the leash:

Expansion of 5G technology-5G will enable real-time wireless connectivity for any Internet of Things (IoT) device, such as autonomous cars or sensor-driven factories. Existing concerns about possible adverse health effects of electro-magnetic fields are likely to increase. In addition, hackers can also use the speed and volume of 5G to capture (or steal) more data faster. The biggest concerns are potential privacy and security breaches and espionage.

"The Increasing Risks of the (Near) Future." , VersicherungsJournal.de from 23.05.19:
"New technologies meet old infrastructure
"Among the near-term is the clash of new technologies and old infrastructure. "Hardware in areas with critical infrastructure, such as smart power grids or lines and hospitals, is often outdated," is the Swiss Re Institute's finding. Insurers therefore face "higher risk accumulation and unexpected loss potential in the areas of property damage, personal injury, business interruption and cyber risks," it said....

Concerns about 5G
Among the three risks that are particularly significant in the long term, the report lists the expansion of 5G technology, the successor to the 4G LTE standard. This technology enables real-time wireless connectivity for every device of the "Internet of Things. Application examples: autonomous cars or sensor-controlled factories. However: "The already existing concerns about possible negative health effects of electromagnetic fields will probably increase."

In table from Swiss Re under time horizon "more than 3 years": "Expansion of 5G technology: increase in concerns about health, privacy and security risks."

"Swiss Re sees big risks ahead for insurers in digital world" moneycab.com, 05/22/2019
"New risks from 5G. In the long term, Swiss Re experts see new risks for insurers with the construction of 5G mobile networks. 5G will enable wireless connectivity for Internet of Things (IoT) devices, such as autonomous cars or sensor-driven factories. People's concerns about possible health effects are likely to increase, according to Swiss Re. There would also be major concerns about privacy, security breaches and espionage."
