With the employees joining Swisscom from USP a security competence cluster with a good 200 specialists will be created, who will take care of the security of applications, data and networks of corporate customers around the clock, writes the telecom provider.

Urs Lehner, Head of Swisscom Enterprise Customers and member of the Group Executive Board, on the acquisition: USP, which has been in business for 25 years, has an extremely exciting service, customer and competence portfolio. This will give his company access to security specialists and corresponding know-how in this fast-growing market, Lehner said. Michael Liebi, CEO at USP, adds: "The two companies complement each other ideally with their customer portfolios.

USP continues to exist

The acquisition would further strengthen Managed Security Services (MSS). The new security software product business (Web Access Management and Network Access Control) expands Swisscom's security offering.

United Security Providers, founded in 1994, will continue to exist as a separate company and brand under the Swisscom umbrella. The current management team around company founder and CEO Michael Liebi will continue to provide services and thus ensure continuity. Swisscom plans to further expand and sustainably strengthen its cyber security business, it concludes.
