Techtextil and Texprocess take a look at the city of the future
According to the United Nations, almost 70 percent of all people will live in urban regions, metropolises and megacities by 2050. This places new demands on construction, mobility concepts, health services, smart fashion and functional clothing. With the special event "Urban Living - City of the Future", Techtextil and Texprocess are devoting their attention to life in the city of the future.
"Urban Living - City of the Future" will be the main theme of Techtextil and Texprocess 2019 in Frankfurt am Main (D), the leading international trade fairs for technical textiles and nonwovens as well as the processing of textile and flexible materials, from May 14 to 17, 2019. Special focus will be on the Netherlands. Supported by Creative Holland, the sectoral association of the Dutch creative industries, the special presentation area questions the role that Textiles and textile composites can play in the future of cities, and highlights outstanding applied textile-urban Innovations from the Netherlands.
"With the key theme Urban Living - City of the Future, Techtextil and Texprocess are creating a joint interaction space that brings the application areas of Techtextil and Texprocess even closer together. "After going into space and into the future for the last edition of Techtextil and Texprocess, we are coming back to earth and to the here and now with Urban Living," explains Olaf Schmidt, Vice President Textiles and Textile Technologies at Messe Frankfurt.
