Door management in focus
The discipline of door management has grown in complexity. This is hardly surprising given the multifunctionality of a door and its integration into security, monitoring and building technology systems. Interested parties can gain an overview at a specialist conference.
The rather unspectacular component "door" must satisfy many properties and functions: building physics requirements, resistance, access and egress control, escape route, self-locking, intervention, etc.. In addition, the variety of requirements is great - far more than 100 laws, standards and guidelines are related to the door. Who can still keep track of them all? What is going on in daily practice? How do you deal with the numerous interfaces? What solutions exist?
High practical relevance
Questions about questions to be answered on March 21, 2019 at the Save symposium "Doors and door management: an eternal problem?" will be discussed in Zurich. The conference, conceived by professional associations, has a high relation to practice: A new building for the headquarters of an insurance company in the Zurich area, for example, becomes an illustrative object regarding door management in the planning phase. The architect, the security and door planner as well as the electrical planner will provide concrete insights into the project and the handling of the complex topic around the door. The approach and solution approaches are certainly helpful for further projects.
Which door components may be installed when and how? Information can be obtained from a member of the board of the Association of the Swiss Door Industry (VST). What about doors in escape routes? Is digital door compartment planning the sustainable solution and at the same time the foundation for facility management? Two renowned security and door compartment planners will address these two key questions in their presentations. How does the carpenter deal with elements in buildings that are difficult to retrofit? The master carpenter is currently providing answers to this question himself. In a final presentation, given by an experienced door specialist planner, everything revolves around the maintenance of doors and gates.
The conference is organized by the professional associations SES and SGAS recognized as continuing education.
