Jewelry store robbery
Following the robbery of the Bucherer jewelry store, the Zurich city police arrested one of the suspects. In the process, they were also able to seize criminal property worth more than 100,000 Swiss francs. The manhunt for the second perpetrator is still ongoing.
After the jewelry store Bucherer was attacked by two unknown persons on Tuesday morning around 10 o'clock, the Zurich city police (Stapo) with the support of the cantonal police initiated a large-scale manhunt for the two unknown perpetrators. During these searches, not only people and vehicles in private transport are checked, but also people in public transport. A patrol of the city police noticed a man who was behaving conspicuously. In addition, the signaling corresponded to one of the wanted men. During the check, the police officers found a handgun in his waistband. In his carried bag were various wristwatches, which is why the 25-year-old man was arrested, as the Stapo writes. It quickly became clear that the watches were previously stolen criminal property.
Manhunt in full swing
The search for the accomplice is in full swing. In this context, the public prosecutor's office and the Stapo Zurich publish a picture of the wanted man. The description of the wanted man: Approx. 40-50 years old, about 185 cm tall, strong build, white complexion, spoke English, has short dark hair, also wore a cap with earflaps. He was wearing a long blue parka jacket and cargo pants. He was tanned and had a stubble beard. He was armed with a handgun and was carrying a dark "Massimo Dutti" bag when he left the store.
