Preventing, recognizing and managing poisoning in an emergency

Preventing poisoning is the first priority. In fact, it is possible to prevent poisoning with simple measures. The Tox Center is a nationwide information center for all questions from private individuals, professionals and companies in connection with toxic hazards. The main focus is on the operation of the emergency number 145 for advice in acute poisoning emergencies. The experiences made are continuously documented and treatment schemes are established. For this reason, emergency departments and physicians also obtain information from the Tox Info Suisse in case of poisoning emergencies to find out which therapy is currently recommended. For non-emergency information on poisoning, private individuals and professionals can reach the specialists at Tox Info Suisse by calling 044 251 66 66.
Consultations and services for companies
By contractual agreement, Tox Info Suisse also offers emergency medical advice for the transport of toxic goods abroad and from Switzerland to abroad (24h). Chemical and pharmaceutical companies provide a contact point outside office hours for medical emergencies related to their products.
