Virtual police station as APP
Digital solutions are in vogue. The virtual police counter is now also available to citizens as an app.
Whether theft, damage to property or loss of license plates: It is inconvenient if, in addition to all the hassle, the affected resident has to appear in person at the police station to file a report. Fortunately, this is a thing of the past in many places, as a virtual police counter is already available in 15 cantons. Crimes or property damage can be reported via the web address www.suisse-epolice.ch be reported.
The figures show that citizens are making active use of the digital solution. A "Suisse ePolice" APP is now available to the population on the move. The contract for this new development was awarded by the Police Technology and Informatics Association (PTI). The new service platform, which was realized by Bedag Informatik AG, enables the individual police corps to offer citizens the desired business cases flexibly and adapted to their needs, according to the PTI.
With the APP, citizens can forward reports to the police while on the move - in encrypted form. Photos from the cell phone can also be attached to the report. According to the police, the whole procedure takes around 20 minutes. This definitely saves time compared to going to a non-virtual police station. Incidentally, the police station can be contacted directly via the app if anything is unclear. (rs)
