VKF: Communication in the risk dialogue
The Association of Cantonal Fire Insurers is holding a workshop on "Communication Technology in Risk Dialogue" on various dates.
The risk dialogue "natural hazards" poses different challenges for those affected. Intervention and the associated measures are one thing - prevention and the associated communication are another. This risk dialogue is conducted and supported at different levels, as the Association of Cantonal Fire Insurers (VKF). Internet sites provide well-founded information, brochures and the hazard maps show the specifications and possible effects of natural hazards. Nature itself also makes us think about and discuss the possible risks again and again. In the end, however, it is the human being who has to put all this information together in such a way that it can be heard by his target group and gain understanding for the individual situation.
Prevention in this sense means educating people and stakeholders about natural hazards at an early stage and developing solutions together. A complex task that can be mastered with the help of a clear, solution-oriented communication strategy.
The workshop
The workshop "Communication in risk dialogue" shows the basic communication mechanisms that occur in the field of risk dialogue. The aim is to identify the different levels of perception and action in order to derive a procedure for communication in risk dialogue.
The course also challenges participants to create an optimal communication basis for different conversation and discussion situations: be it with the appropriate media and instruments or with meaningful communication methods.
Participants will have to master different communication situations and try to use the communication methods. The one-day workshop will be held on the following dates this year:
- Friday, May 20 (Deadline: May 2)
- Friday, August 19 (Deadline: August 2, 2016)
- Thursday, September 22, 2016 (Deadline: September 1)
The Courses take place at the Association of Cantonal Fire Insurers VKF in Bern.
