St. Nicholas Day 2018 at the Landhaus Solothurn: The large hall in this venerable house dating from 1722 is gradually filling up. As always in December, the VSSU At a ceremony in Solothurn, the women and men who took the professional examinations for "Security and Surveillance Specialist" (FSB) and "Personal and Property Protection Specialist" (FPO) were awarded their diplomas. More than 260 people took part in the training, and 177 graduates were able to receive the coveted certificate in Solothurn this year.

Important complementary task

The trained security specialists work in security service companies that look after the interests of private individuals and the private sector. Security personnel thus fulfill important complementary tasks to authorities, blue-light organizations and for other customer groups, as Armin Berchtold, VSSU president, explained in Solothurn. Thanks to their training, the certified security specialists would have the knowledge and skills to act safely and proportionately even in extraordinary situations. Unfortunately, there are still black sheep in the industry who, for example, do not meet the Collective labor agreement Berchtold further emphasized in his speech.

The security situation in Switzerland has not improved in recent years. "You, dear graduates, are therefore making an important contribution to security in our country," said Berchtold to the honored professionals.
